Saturday's Tea Party in Buffalo

Yesterday I went to my first ever Tea Party in Buffalo NY. It was nice, very tame crowd of about 250 people. Unlike what a lot of people who have NOT been to these events have blathered on about, it was not exactly what one would imagine a protest to be. It was quiet, people were listening intently to speakers and once in a while the crowd would applaud and cheer~ as they did when one African American woman (she identified herself so, saying she represented AA patriots, I don't normally go around noticing people's color unless it is of import to them) spoke of this great nation being built on Christian principals. It was not anti-government and absolutely NOT anti-taxes or anti-Obama. I didn't see even one of those type signs. People had American flags, spoke of restoring the republic, of our need to get back to basics and integrity, values, and that these stimulus packages under BOTH Bush and Obama are bleeding us dry. We're losing our freedoms, just handing them over. Nobody is even reading these stimulus bills except for the American public, and we're not the ones voting on them! Sheesh....

Good event, glad I went.

Since I have a terrible phobia about driving on 4 lanes into the city, my oldest son drove me there (thank you awesome son!) and as we stepped into the darkness of Club W I had to whisper to him "this is the first time you mom has been in a bar in over 21 years". He laughed and said we should get a drink. Heh heh, nice try son!

So here are some pics, the ones that turned out anyway. It was really dark in there. I stayed less than an hour since hanging out in a bar wasn't my cup of tea. ROFL
I actually couldn't wait to get home to finish trimming up the bushes, raking, and then take a nap.
The littles have been playing outside a lot now~ 3-4 or more hours a day and you know good weather is here when the bath water is actually turning gray and tiny fingernails are caked with dirt and chalk. My whole patio is covered with graffiti, B's jacket covered in chalk too (thanks for washing that, daddy!).

A robin built her nest on my bedroom window ledge so we're waiting for eggs and eventually babies. I'll have to get some photos of mama bird later. This happens yearly, and we sure enjoy 'em.

Off to get ready for Mass.
